Google seems to like Wikipedia again

Johannes of SISTRIX GmbH wrote an (german) article about how Wikipedia pages moved up again in Google’s SERPs. He monitored the position of Wikipedia articles for certain keywords in Google’s SERPs and found out, that, beginning with last December, Wikipedia content started to move down the result pages.
Last week they all moved up again, so it seems like Google’s support for Wikipedia is back.

I’m not sure if Wikipedia really deserves this support.
Last moth Germany got a new Minister for Economic Affairs. He’s a nobleman with many first names and a prankster added one more (“Wilhelm”) to them in the Wikipedia article about Baron zu Guttenberg. On the day of zu Guttenberg’s inauguration lot’s of newspapers thought it would be funny to list all his first names, so they did – and lot’s of them included the fake Wilhelm. Reporters from serious newspapers obviously used Wikipedia as their only source and demonstrated (again), that Wikipedia often can’t be trusted. That’s why I don’t see a reason to favor Wikipedia content.
